Compassionate grief facilitators, mental health and wellbeing professionals, and founders of Piece of Wellness.
At Piece of Wellness, our grief support circles are gently guided by Debbie Clay and Clare Cavalli, two experienced wellbeing practitioners who share a passion for supporting people through grief, loss, and life's most difficult transitions.
Together, we bring over 16 years of combined experience in holistic wellbeing, emotional support, and trauma-informed practice. We believe that while grief is deeply personal, no one should have to carry it alone.
Our aim is to create a warm, welcoming community where people experiencing bereavement can feel safe, accepted, and supported. Through our grief circles, we offer a compassionate space where every person's journey is honoured, every story is respected, and silence is just as welcome as sharing.
Clinical Hypnotherapist, Advanced EFT Practitioner & Student Counsellor
Debbie is a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Advanced EFT Practitioner, and Student Counsellor in the final stage of her professional counselling training. She is passionate about helping people navigate grief, trauma, anxiety, and life's emotional challenges with warmth, compassion, and understanding.
Her approach is shaped by both professional expertise and lived experience. Having experienced the profound impact of grief and emotional loss herself, Debbie understands how isolating bereavement can feel and believes that healing begins when people feel truly seen, heard, and supported.
Alongside her private practice at Calming Breeze Therapies, Debbie has volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Support, supported trainee therapists at the Kent Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy, and is the author of The Grief Healing Journal. These experiences have deepened her commitment to creating safe, compassionate spaces where people can explore their grief without pressure or judgement.
Before retraining as a therapist, Debbie worked within the police emergency services, supporting people during some of the most distressing moments of their lives. This experience strengthened her ability to remain calm, listen with empathy, and provide reassurance when it is needed most.
Within Piece of Wellness, Debbie's greatest hope is that everyone who walks through the door feels a sense of belonging. Whether someone chooses to speak, listen, or simply sit quietly with others who understand, she believes no one should have to face grief alone.
Trauma-Informed Advanced Breathwork & Bodywork Facilitator, Clinical Hypnotherapist and EFT Practitioner
Clare is the founder of Healing Breath and a Trauma-Informed Advanced Breathwork and Bodywork Facilitator who specialises in supporting people experiencing stress, trauma, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. Her work is rooted in helping people reconnect with themselves through breath, body awareness, and compassionate presence.
Known for her warm, grounded, and intuitive approach, Clare creates spaces where people feel genuinely safe, supported, and never pressured. She understands that grief affects not only our emotions but also our nervous system and physical wellbeing. Her trauma-informed practice recognises that healing cannot be rushed, it begins by gently meeting people exactly where they are.
Having experienced her own journey of healing, Clare is deeply passionate about helping others move beyond simply surviving and towards feeling more connected, resilient, and at peace. She believes that when people are given the opportunity to slow down, breathe, and be held within a compassionate community, healing naturally begins to unfold.
At Piece of Wellness, Clare is committed to creating a grief support circle where every person feels welcomed, respected, and accepted. Whether someone chooses to share their story or simply sit quietly in the company of others, her hope is that everyone leaves knowing they are not alone and that there is strength to be found in community.
Piece of Wellness is a Community Interest Company (CIC) created to provide accessible, compassionate grief and bereavement support within our local community.
Everything we do is rooted in kindness, empathy, and human connection. We believe that healing is not about "moving on" from loss, it is about finding ways to carry our grief with support, understanding, and hope.
By bringing people together through our community grief circles, we aim to reduce loneliness, strengthen emotional wellbeing, and remind people that they are never alone in their journey.
We meet every person with warmth, kindness, empathy, and without judgement.
We provide a confidential, respectful environment where everyone is free to participate in the way that feels right for them.
Grief affects everyone differently. We welcome people of all backgrounds, beliefs, identities, and experiences with openness and respect.
We believe that meaningful connection can help ease the isolation of grief. Together, we create a supportive community where people can find comfort, understanding, and hope alongside others who truly understand.
As a Community Interest Company, we exist solely for the benefit of our community, not for private profit. Every grief support circle, conversation, and initiative is dedicated to improving wellbeing, reducing isolation, and helping build a more compassionate community where no one has to face grief alone.
